Mike got his start in medicine 28 years ago after getting out of the Army, achieving his paramedic certification and working in a large, aggressive EMS system in Portland. Not content there, Mike would go on to get both his critical care and flight paramedic certifications. He started flying international fixed-wing critical care transfers in 2001 before moving to Texas in 2002 and flying for Scott & White STAT Air, then PHI, and finally Memorial Hermann Life Flight. In 2009, Mike went to nursing school, earning an Associate Degree of Nursing and then Bachelor of Science-Nursing. Still not satisfied, he went on to obtain his Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018 and Emergency/Trauma Nurse Practitioner in 2019. Mike works full-time as an ED provider at St. Luke’s Livingston, St. Luke’s The Vintage, LBJ, and Memorial Hermann TMC. He is married with three kids and lives in Cypress. In his spare time, he enjoys drag racing, building and working on race cars, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family.
Mike is excited to help here in a part-time capacity, bringing his advanced practice capabilities and extensive flight paramedic experience to assist with critical patients and to help build out the next chapter of our mobile integrated healthcare/community paramedic program aimed at reducing readmissions and improving health outcomes for cardiac care patients.

Cypress Creek EMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with 46 years of excellence in emergency services formerly provided within 177 square miles of northern Harris County and to approximately 560,000 residents. CCEMS now operates in eight counties across Texas with Creek GroundCare services and around the world with Creek AirCare. CCEMS is known nationally as an innovator in prehospital medicine. For example, CCEMS was the first civilian EMS in the country to transfuse whole blood into a trauma patient in the field. CCEMS is also part of a Military EMS Fellowship that is bringing battlefield medicine to civilian EMS to reduce deaths due to trauma.
