Ambulances Will Carry Siemens Healthineers epoc® Blood Analysis System

October 12, 2021 Houston, TX: Cypress Creek EMS (CCEMS) is collaborating with leading medical technology company Siemens Healthineers to offer lab quality-correlated point-of-care blood analysis testing in the field.

“This technology is a game-changer,” says Wren Nealy Jr., chief executive officer for CCEMS. “Instead of wasting hours transporting the patient to a hospital for lab testing, we can diagnose and treat the patient instantly, saving lives when seconds count.”

The epoc® Blood Analysis System works by scanning a patient’s secure ID, analyzing a small blood sample, and instantly delivering real-time results inside the ambulance or aircraft, including a full blood gas and metabolic panel. This real-time critical feedback will enable CCEMS to use this information to make immediate treatment decisions.

“The advantages of having this technology at our fingertips are endless. The application of this system can be used for critical care transports and acute conditions endurance athletes experience during events like the IRONMAN which we utilized last weekend,” says Wren Nealy Jr.
