Special Operations Courses

Special operations within EMS include alternative response types, such as providing medical support using bicycles for athletic events, parades, festivals, and alternative missions such as providing medical support for law enforcement tactical teams. Cypress Creek EMS has a long history of leading the way in delivering effective EMS special operations capabilities. We offer several courses for EMS and law enforcement professionals seeking to improve their skill sets in these areas. Our instructors draw on extensive experience and subject matter expertise in these fields to prepare students for success in providing special operations capabilities at their agencies.

Tactical Operations

The Basic Tactical Operations Medical Support (BTOMS) course is internationally recognized as the premier training course for medics and physicians providing operational support for civilian law enforcement tactical teams. The CCEMS Tactical Medic team offers this intensive, week-long course in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement as well as military physicians and private and not-for-profit organizations. Students are prepared to provide lifesaving care to combat injuries as well as contribute to operational planning, support extended operations, medical care during hostage negotiations, and caring for law enforcement working dogs.
